THE NUT OF IT by Rosemary Watson

As far as I can remember I was born and raised in Northwest, Indiana.

Official start date was Mar 20, 1966. Northwest Indiana is like the

Great Northwest, only nothing like it at all. And it was there, in that

‘suburb of Chicago,’ where I developed a WILD imagination while

playing in a box. It was a refrigerator box with plenty of air and

room to stretch out in, don’t worry. This ultimately turned into a

career in the Arts, which ironically, includes me working inside

a tiny box to this day.

Recording voiceovers in my iso booth
is how I spend a lot of my time. So much so that I was honored in

2018 with a nomination for OUTSTANDING BODY OF WORK, Best Voiceover,
by the Society of Voice Arts & Sciences.

To be nominated for the (prestigious-sounding, isn’t it?) award, I had to send in lots of clips of my impression work from shows like The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel, Letterman, Howard Stern etc. and many web-series that you’ve never heard of.  I also threw in some samples from TV/radio ads, apps, educational software, audio books, toys and cartoons that I’ve done over the past 16 years. I also had to pay an entrance fee. (Look, I don’t make up the rules for how you get yourself nominated for fancy things.)  I didn't win that year, but that doesn't matter. What matters is that the check didn't bounce.

Some other career highlights include meeting comedy legend, Carol Burnett. If you want to see the workings of a beautiful angel, watch the clips on my website of Carol on “CBS, This Morning!” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” touting my work.  She actually called me one of her favorite comedians. GULP! Carol did this for me, a person she did not know, because she wanted to "pay it forward" and help an unknown the way someone helped her once. She also made a call to SNL and told them to check out my work. They did and I flew to NY to audition twice in 2012, including a third meeting over dinner. I did not get cast, but that doesn't matter, because what happened a year later was even cooler!

Carol requested my presence at the Mark Twain Prize for Humor. The show (2013) was taped at The Kennedy Center in Washington DC. Other presenters included Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Tony Bennet, Julie Andrews, Martin Short and was in celebration of the icon who is, not just my, but every female comedian’s idol that I know of! I am STILL stunned this happened.

In 2020, I created for realtors and property managers who want help renting/selling their properties via narrated virtual tours.

I got engaged in February of 2020 (on-stage no less) singing with a big band. Singing with a big band is one of my all-time favorite things to do and what I hope to do more of in 2022. In 2020, I also got to play several characters on Robert Smigel's, Let's Be Real puppet show (FoxTV).

On-camera, I’ve appeared on big and small shows including: The View where I performed political impressions; and on HGTV and The Discovery Channel, back in the '90s, doing crafts. No doubt my work on HGTV helped me hone my newest Martha Stewart impression which TikTokkers are eating up. Other celebrity impressions include: Cher, Diane Sawyer, Barbara Walters, Rachel Maddow, Barbra Streisand, Liza Minelli, Kristen Chenowith and Suze Orman.

As a jazz/pop singer I’ve appeared on The Queen Latifah Show and have sung at beautiful places like The Bellagio and Paris Hotels in Las Vegas. My 2-year steady gig at a Four Seasons Hotel is where I earned my chops. I currently have two stage shows, What's Going On and Vegas '69, Come Swing With Us! that are available for booking and want to put up a one-woman cabaret show just as soon as I can fit back into my dresses.

I have a BA in Psychology from UCLA and took a few courses towards my master in Ethics and Policy. I have a stellar family and manipulative dog. Hobbies include driving my son all over tarnation, pulling weeds, yelling at my computer and giving a damn.

TikTok changed my life in March of 2022 and is now officially in my will.  My handle over there is RosemarysVoice.

My mother, a great musician/performer taught me how to play piano and harp from a young age. She also taught me about sunbathing.
